[liff] Because We All Need It Right Now, Kitties.

3488.
Because during times of dexterity such as this, sometimes you just need to look at some cats. Here's our three youngest, Los Tres Hermanitos, from front to back: Ralph, Mason, and Ricky.

Enjoy the catliness.

[Out122ndWay] Tiny Lions In The Library

3416.
Saturday, traditional Library day, I'm diarizing trying to make sense of the all, and what should I see but some rather feline patrons.

One was a wild African cat. Well, really just wild about playing with his friend.

The other, a most watchful micro-panther.

I needed the smile. Just the mere look at a cat and I smile. And I usually have a bit of an averse reaction to people bringing their personal pets into the library … I don't really think that's allowed … but these guys were pretty well-behaved. And nobody else was freaking, the fuzzbutts were in plain sight.

Sometimes, you need to see a kitty.

The micropanther was called Zimba:

And this is the other little guy, Leo:

They were in the possession of this young couple, who were taking them out so they'd get used to other people and the chaos of the street. We didn't find out about their story, but they were quite a nice young couple.

The Wife™, of course, handled the social interaction. I got some serious pets in and heard some serious purrs.

Puurfect.

So it goes.

[caturday] The Happiest Calico In The Greater Portland Area

3292.
Call it #Caturday, deferred. I took this picture on Caturday, anyway. And Taffy, the girl calico, is wandering around the studio room, purring out loud and occasionally giving the little miaow that's saying I'm lonely but she has my undivided attention, I mean, she was purring out loud when she came in the room.

If you want to know what purrfect happiness is, here:

That is Pioneer Square Taffy.

[caturday] Kiki ArtKitty Provides Supervision

3156.
Whether or not I waste time in the studio, she's watching me.

Almost like she's keeping score.

Sure, I can screw off, but I'll have to answer to the fluffball.

[art] New "Mewse" Spotted In Studio … on Caturday

2993.
I don't make a habit of Caturday posts, but if I did, this would be one of them.

I'm going to cast 2014, the 'year' being the human artifact and overlay on the natural world that it is, as an 'art-healing' time. I have only the barest of inklings as to what that means, but I've a sense, and some years I get very little right, but I've never failed if I find something happy like that and just rolled with it.

So, art-healing it is.

We have a recent addition to the cat company at home base; we rescued her a couple of years back. She started out very anti-social but has warmed considerably.

Encouragingly, she has condescended (trust me on this … as all of us cat-people know, cats, by default, consider themselves a higher form of life, but this girl walks and talks it) to share time in what I call my studio space with me. More often than not she'll be circling my chair while I'm diarizing or writing blog postings.

She started out as an aloof Ice Princess, and is still standoffish in most of the rest of the house … but in the studio, she's one cool kitten.

Allow me to introduce KiKi.

She also disdains the paparazzo, which, in case you didn't know, is the singular of paparazzi, which by the ending -o, would be male, in this case, would be me.

Just one more purrson I'll disappoint if I don't get off my artistic assets, already.

Which reminds, we'll be going to I've Been Framed today. Since my work sked has been rejiggered, we don't get round to there nearly  enough.

[caturday] Bet as Hyperspace_kitteh

1033. Our resident superkitty got tired of waiting for Caturday:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

So he got here before us, and he's been having fun ever since. Still, he's glad to see us.

You didn't know that kittehs could shortcut through hyperspace? We did!

[liff] Caturday, with Special Guests Boots and Gimel, featuring a Special Short Subject

920. Ah, filial piety:

Boots is the jellicle up front. Gimel is giving her mommy a little groom, there. Gimel is also kind of insane. You know the girl that some families have, she's a wild child, kind of lovable but also rather maddening, and she's usually this wiry, active person.

That's our Gimel. A perfectly healthy, adorable, 8-pound bonsai kitty that's kind of crazy. You love her despite yourself, and despite her, as well, too, also.

And now, our featured digital short, courtesy of a pic ripped off of Hot, Fresh, Now:

It's a digital short because...well, it's in a digital format. And it's shorter than the above pic. Duh.

For me and my house, we're waiting until we have at least two more versions of that thing out, and an income. Definitely that.
