[art] Alas, A Sketchbook Page

1488. Since I came to Alas! A Blog via the word route and it's thick with ideas an usually crackling good that way, I tend to forget that one of the intelligences behind it is a damn fine cartoonist (even though that cartoonist's cartoons illustrate the site).

And a little edgy too. Has a Ralph Steadman sort of energy but a style I enjoy a lot more.

You're welcome, &. I wish I could do more than just say a lame "I lurve your work", but I do ... I find it inspiring, and it's so neat when artists and cartoonists share a bit of their sketchbooks. Totally inspiring.

I've got my worries about that mohawked fellow, though. I find it telling that the dismayed woman in the background is appalled by the puppetteer, not the puppet.
